Bloggin in the Free World...

Word up Cyber folk,

I've never "blogged" before. Damn it's exhilirating. Let's see...some Blog puns:

1. Blogging Molly
2. A Bloggy Day in London Town

I draw great amusement from these types of things. Cue the Weird Al tune "White and Nerdy." What do people in cyberspace want to hear about? My love life? Musical ambitions? Polical ambitions? Dinner ambitions? Regular or decaf? Let me know please. I'll quit now. You're brain's probably goin' "blahg, blahg, blahg."

Hi Boyz:

I've never blogged before either but just surfed your site after meeting you guys Friday night at THE CONTINENTAL. Fullerton is my hometown and while I'm a regular at STEAMER'S JAZZ CAFE, I don't really do the collegiate club crawl except to check out da live music scene. Whatta score to catch UPSTART at your Oct. 26 gig. You guys are so tight!

When I saw the ol' skool Fender Rhodes onstage (BTW, made right here in Fullerton back in da day and I have two suitcase 88s myself), I knew I'd dig your band. And I was totally blown away! You guys have such a unique sound with a blend of jazz fusion with a retro funk feel and a hip twist of Jamiroquai style vocals. Michael met me backstage and gave me your CD which I've been listening to all weekend.

Like I told you guys, I'm a longtime concert promoter from various SoCal venues from the club circuit to arena level (worked with headliners from Frank Sinatra to Frank Zappa) and also worked in Hollywood's record industry (A&M RECORDS, CAPITOL-EMI RECORDS).

With your awesome original music, you guys should be signed by a label and doing some big-time gigs! You could be an opening act for some of the groups you do cover tunes of --many bands which I've worked with since their heyday. In fact, last month I was in Boston with EARTH, WIND & FIRE... and in two weeks, my boyz AVERAGE WHITE BAND will be at CERRITOS CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS (where I worked its debut season). AWB always call me when they're in town and when we party together, maybe we can come check out one of your gigs, so keep me posted where you're booked. Whenever you come back to downtown Fullerton to play The Continental (just down the street from my house), call me and I'll definitely be in da house!

Keep it funky!
